Partnership between Towne Lake Arts Center and Papa's Pantry yields food and fun for those in need.

Two diverse non-profit groups are housed across the street from each other on Commerce Parkway off Bells Ferry Road in Woodstock - one provides for families and individuals in need of food and assistance - the other provides family oriented performing arts programming. However, they are and have been working together for some time now in a unique and positive way.

"When Lynne Saunders moved in across the street from the Arts Center, I was invited to meet her and the Papa's Pantry volunteers at a grand opening. Right away I wanted to make a connection between the food pantry and food for the soul." says Artistic Director GL Grooms. "We first offered ticket certificates for Papa's Pantry to distribute to families. Now that has grown into a program that allows our patrons to make a canned goods contribution and then receive a free concession item at intermission as a thank you from TLAC for helping Papa's Pantry. Lynne has already come over about three times to pick up boxes of donated items. It's a great program."
